Labs 3

Today my partners were Maddy and Emma S. we were in 'Motors' First we took a wire and wrapped it around a 3'' straw and then we attached it to a battery, and put a needle thorough it. it didn't work at first, because we only had one end touching the battery. so then we taped both wire ends to the same end of the battery. that didn't work either. when we put the wires on opposite sides it worked perfectly.

Labs 2

so today, Maddy, Lilly and i all were in 'Heat Shields' lab. first we made a shield with a sheet of tin foil, that was connected to the screen, it lasted about 2:15 seconds. then we made the next one the same way, but with a double sheet of tin foil, and more air inbetween. our second one lasted more than 5:00 minutes, but we had to stop because MM was worryed about the propane torch. this shows that one of the best ways to spot heat is to have air inbetween.

Labs 1

so today t-mike, taryn and i all did "a measure of sound". we were very confused and didn't get all of the lab done. we are planning to stay after school later this week to finish the lab.

Mini Culmination

lilly and i are getting the parachute to land on the first step or the ground. at first we were just dropping it to see where it goes, then we added weight to make it fall faster, but even that didn't work. so today we would fold it up then drop it so that at the last second it would open. it seems to work really well so at the next lab time we are going to work on it more so that it lands right every time.

okays so i have been makeing videos for my blog, but i haven't gotten to put them up, yet... ACK!! thats bad! so i hope that i will be able to find them! (one is on lillys blog so far)

Lab 2

Today we did the "Launching to the Moon" lab. First we tryed to get it to the moon without any of the parts attached, wich we failed twice, but we got the main idea. then we put some objects into the balloon, and attached it to the tube. we got everything together, but then i had to leave for Xcountry. i'm not sure if it worked or not.
i think that we did this lab to connect what we've been learning about Newtons Law(s) to the M2M. we will most likely need to know all the ways that it can be used for the M2M.

Lab 1

okay so Unity and i did the Remote Repairs for our lab. at first i was a little confused because i wasn't sure how to set up the google talk thing, but once we got that set up, i was all good. we managed to match one of the pairs, but then we ran out of time.
i think that the point of this was to be able to commuicate with someone, with out seeing them. this would be helpful in the M2M because if someone is up in space, then i have to be able to tell/explain something to them.
